I got bored today and decided to go and try for some black drum for the tournament. So far nothing. Hopefully it will pick up after the water warms up.

A friend of mine was catching them a month or two ago in the Diversionary Canal near the bridge.

I've tried there a few times and i've been catching a bunch of rat reds. Still a load of fun. I did have something spool me though. Probably a big black drum. What does your friend use to get them?

They're out there. Caught a couple 35+ lbs near the pass this last weekend.

They're starting to stack up now...spawn at 65 degree water temp...
