Spring sheephead/drum run is on, whoo hoo!
Some buddies were nice enough to invite me out on their boat for a jetty trip and I actually caught fish from a motor boat, imagine that.
Fishing live and dead shrimp on the gulf side of the N. Jetty towards the tip, we had pretty consistent action.
I ended up catching 2 bull reds, about 6 sheephead, and an upper slot red, as well as a few undersized drum.
We also caught a bunch more sheepies, a few more bull reds, a few big uglies and slot drum. Also a few whiting/croaker.
Fish were up against the rocks. I was fishing a bottom rig with good results, but switched to drifting live shrimp with a slip float and soon everyone was using corks. Crazy action with a few double and one triple hook-up. All sheepies were very good sized.
