Took one of my yankee hunting buddies(he's from Dallas) down south on Monday to do some fishing and hopefully some catching. We stopped by FTU on the way down and picked up all the latest GULP! shrimp, swimming mullets, squids, hermit crabs, and such. We went down the beach on the SLP side, found a spot that looked good to me, and started fishing. The trout were there Monday afternoon, but the yankee couldn't buy a bite even with me showing him exactly what to do, where to throw, and how to work the GULP just right. I ended up with a limit and he didnt string one fish. I guess everybody takes an arse whoopin every now and again...and it was just the rooks time.
Yesterday we went back to the same spot, and the yankee actually caught some fish this time. We ended up one short of a two man limit yesterday morning, on the same GULP hermit crab imitation that we used the day before. It was a hell of a day, and i think the yankee is hooked.
Here's a pic of the yank with the fish. Givin a local favorite some pub.
Go get 'em guys, just remember...get those GULP, head to the surf, work em low and slow, and wait for the tap.
