  • Chocolate tournament March 28th

    Ladies and Gentleman,

It's my pleasure to once again present to you the Lutes Marine Tournament Series.

Attached is the Categories along with the Rules & Regs.

For those that have not fished these tournaments, let me give you a little background info.

Our tournaments are meant to be fun, family oriented, tournaments where luck plays a big factor. We encourage fisherman to take wives and kids along. There are no huge payouts, as the more people that enter the more positions are paid out. Categories change and it's not always about the big fish. We don't intend for these to have big turnouts, and generally get 40 - 70 participants per.

The Marina takes no money from the entries, as all the money goes back to the fisherman, except for the charitable donations we make to the Lake Jackson Sea Center, Flounder Foundation.

This the big reason we ask fisherman to check-in in the morning. It helps bring in business to the Marina through Ice, drinks, and gas purchases. We simply want to encourage people to fish Chocolate.

    POINTS SYSTEM
We have 6 tournaments scheduled for 2009, and we do a points system that are combined for every tournament, and present trophy's and the last tournament.

    How the points add up
1st - Bring in all of your catch, even though you know it's not in the money.Every year it comes down to the last tournament for fisherman jocking for position and last year it came down to the top 8, with it ending with the top 2 tying for the top spot. __________________________________________________ ____________
    Points - per category
    1st - 40
    2nd- 38
    3rd- 36
    4th- 34
    5th- 32
    6th -30
    7th -28
    8th -26
    9th -24
    10th-22

10 - points for entering each tournament
No points are given to group stringers
    __________________________________________________ ____________

Occasionally there will be opportunities to gain additional points,
like we have for bringing in live SPECS for the Sea Center for the 1st tournaments. (see flyer)
and look for more emails on how to care for the live specs.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me off-line via email or through the marina.

    WIN a FLOUNDER Replica Mount

In an effort to promote the catch and release of the big, genetically superior breeding female flounder, Lutes Marine has teamed up with Chester Moore who has a great blog "Flounder Revolution". They have partnered with Texas Fish & Game magazine and Global Fish Mounts to create Fiberglass for Flatfish.

From March-November Flounder Revolution will be taking submissions via pictures, from anglers releasing (or donating to hatcheries through special events) flounder measuring 20 inches or more.

At the end of each month, the angler who submits the largest released flounder will receive a high quality fiberglass replica of their catch produced by Global Fish Mounts.

Then at the end of the nine-month cycle, the angler who submits the most released flounder measuring 20 inches or more will be our "Flounder Angler of the Year" and receive a special trophy from Flounder Revolution, along with a feature on your achievement in Texas Fish & Game magazine and prizes worth $1,000.

For rules & info on this please look at this link http://flounderrevolution.com/Fiberg..._Flatfish.html

And remember, don't leave home without your camera !!!
