  • Stalls when tilted

I posted earlier about our Merc stalling. I checked the connections as suggested, but also found the sputtering and stalling starts when the engine is tilted. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

fuel pump? carb float? is the fuel being pinched and the sputtering happens after a few seconds?

The motor is only four months old, so I will be taking advantage of the warranty, of course, but thought I better check out the non-warranty options (as well as learning so I can fix it myself out of warranty). I checked the fuel lines and they seem to be clear. The sputter begins as soon as I hit the "magic" line of tilt. However, when running out in the bay, it is more sporadic and has sucked the squeeze bulb flat once. The vent on the gas cap seemed okay.....

Off to the shop we go, I reckon....before the fishing gets hot!

I will post the solution in case others end up with similar issues.

      Thanks!

Probably a kink in your fuel hose somewhere. Let us know the outcome I'm about to put mine in for service.
