  • VRO or No VRO?

I have a 92 115 Johnson. Many friends are telling me I should disconnect the VRO system. Need input from WEA members.

Turn it off,and mix oil in your gas. You will not be sorry, because, when it fails, your motor is toast.

I agree. One of the reasons I purchased the boat I have now is that the motor is pre-mix only. All those systems tend to fail eventually, but the JohnnyRude VRO systems of yesteryear are notorious for this.

Thanks all. Just finished by passing it today. I disconnected the 2 wires from oiler to motor then cut oil line and plugged it to prevent air from getting into system. Temp alarm still connected and mixing gas now 50:1.
