Fished Memorial Day weekend near Bird Island Basin (LLM close to Baffin Bay)
Anchored boat early morning in the shallows (1-2ft) close to the intercoastal (100 yards or so)
Wind was howling 35-40mph with some strong gusts. I have a big boat so it didn't bother me. Water was gin clear.
Caught plenty of trout all around 20". I had heard that this area had been producing some 30" reds the weekend before and I have always had luck with live cracked crab quartered up on the bottom. I had some good hits but was too late to grab the rod. Oh well.
We had a great time minus the wind.
