  • Near perfect flyfishing on saturday & sunday

Saturday had 99% perfect flyfishing conditions, light wind, clear water, and sunny skies.Fished all over the West bay system until 2 PM and caught NOT ONE FISH.We had somewhere between 35 & 40 shots at reds, trout ,Jacks and a shark. Not one of them were interested in eating the fly. Skunked.
Sunday dawned as a duplicate of Saturday, slightly more wind but it was not a problem.Fished the same areas but actually caught one red(18) and one trout(20).No Jacks or Sharks were sighted.
It was great fishing but slow on the catching.

20" trout on a fly is an excellent catch, nice work.

I always start with Clousers.Went down to size 8,no hook ups only refusals.went to kwans, same thing. Next to small crab patterns, smae thing.Tried spoons, still refusals.Seaducers got a look and a nip,but no hookup.Bonefish flies no better. The two fish that were caught on Sunday were taken on a Chart/white clouser size 6.GREAT FUN BUT ALSO VERY FRUSTRATING !
