I don't ever recall the water conditions in the dike area being so bad. I'm not sure if it's attributable to all the dredging in the area or run-off from the Mississippi. It has been a struggle for me to located decent water in recent weeks. I picked up two trout at my first stop, but the bite died soon thereafter. Off I went in search for a little better water clarity. Sought protection from the wind on a leeward shoreline. The water condition was just slightly better and there was bait present. Starting catching fish almost immediately, but ran out of bait three trout shy of my limit. Switched to my 'go-to' spook jr. to finish off my limit around 11:00.
