  • Wade fishing (07/02)

First waded a spot near seawall starting at 6:30AM, left by 8:30 with only 2 keeper trouts. Then headed towards SLP fished under the bridge. This is my winter honeyhole for big sheepies but who would've known!? I got a 20" big girl came out of no where. Got out of water by 3PM and relocated to the surf near the water towel and it was on till I left! Caught at least 20 undersized trouts and even a flounder at 17"! I have NEVER caught a flounder at the surf! Kept three more trouts 16-17", 3X bull whitings, and a sandy. Water was very clear but still a bit too much seaweed. It was A great fishing day! (Have fun guys over the weekend the rip current is quite strong please be careful)

good catch. we hit travel air at 0700 hrs with no luck then ended at slp. we ended up with 4 specks and 1 flounder there on the bay side near the point. we thought the surf was too rough so didnt try it.
                thanks for the report.
