I spun the splined prop on oysters. replaced the prop and here a consistent knocking in forward gear. kept running the motor and something gave out so i lost forward gear.
When out of the water i can spin the prop by hand while it's in foward drive. It makes a clicking sound as it spins. In reverse i can not spin the prop by hand. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the clutch dog went out.

x2 plus you might try adjusting the shift cable.

i'm gonna get a manual from the library and see if i can do something. 1-10 How would you rate the difficulty of this job?

8-9, unless youve done it before.

you may need some special tools & know how to shim the gears.may want to take it somewhere like evans marine
