  • Access #4 Beach report 8/17

Got in the water about 11am. Fished 1.5 hrs.
    Live shrimp.
    4 keeper specks. Largest 19in.
    Water clearish green.
Wind kicked up from south to about 8. Waves got big enough to make me quit.
Talked to two anglers who had limited out just down the beach from me. They were there early.

One thing about today that made it unique was for the first time ever I saw a sea turtle swim by me. It was small, maybe 14in long on the shell. He came bobbing by me.
Pretty cool to see one in the wild.
West End Anglers - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

MP. Ive seen the kemps in the bay at night but once I had a really big one surface right next to me in my kayak. I was in the surf at PINS and it startled me pretty good. I don't think it was a kemps.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.
