  • Fuel problem

Had it 3weeks and already problems. Got a 2000 200 evinrude ficht. Been out about 4times. Ran great. Son took it out this morning for a while then it bogged down and died. Tried it again and went about half throttle and bogged down. Had to come in at idle. I don't get off the tug till tomorrow so can't check it out till then. I live 5 locks from Evans Marine. They may have a new customer real soon.

Evans Marine, sounds like your place... At 5 blocks I'm sure Bryan can lend a helping hand!

I hope it's just a coil-kinda sounds like it may be a coil. Check that by running motor, use rubber/electrician gloves or plastic pliers and pull off one plug wire-if the motor starts sputtering bad/almost dies after pulling a plug wire, then it aint that coil so re-attach that plug wire and try next one and if ya see no change in how it runs/sounds, then ya found the bad coil. Takes about 5 minutes to find out-just watch out for the shocks from the plug wire. Good old Huey Smith taught me that for my 86 Evinrude 90 hp.

Just my suggestion Fuzzy. Coils are easy to replace-heck, even I can do it! My old Rude, I replaced prolly all the coils over time. Boat would run fine, then bog down and rpm would be about 2800. If it aint coils, then definitely take your baby in and likely fuel or stater or ? Good luck-my Skeeter gave me heck for 1.5 months this year-was simply crud in carbs (2008 150 Vmax Yammie).
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Let me know I will look at it and see if we can figure it out. I won't charge you for diagnostics. If it's Idling, sounds to me it is fuel delivery under a load, but we will see when you get back.

Sounds good, fuel pump is high dollar for the carter high pressure, but you happen to be in luck because I just took a 02 model in on trade with a bad computer, and everything else is in good shape on it.

Hey fuzzy, I just got a new promo letter from my power head company, and they have winter specials going on right now. So if you wanted to go with a re-manned I can get you a better deal than before. Let me know if you might be interested.
