Fly report Wednesday aug 31

Had a great day of sighting and casting to singles and pods of fish yesterday. We missed a lot of shots in close and had some trouble keeping the grass off the flies, but still landed 6 on fly. Had a great team on the boat, including a guide from up north who fishes from a Mitzi 17, like mine, Paul Sodaman. He insisted on putting me on the front of the boat, which never hurts my feelings, and I even managed to catch a nice red. Here's a couple of the pics. Almost forgot, the new Helios 8 weight is the sickest rod on the planet!! performed extremely well on both short and long casts, and handled that 8 pound red with ease...
