  • Tuff nite 6-10-9

Almost full moon causing a strong outgoing tide all night.
Tide was out going before sunset and still strong at 04:30.
    Wind around 15+ mph.
Heavy clouds blocked moon most of night.
Waters where ok as far as clarity but the winds caused major surface ripples on the water making the bottom look distorted.

IF THE WINDS WOULD HAD LAID DOWN IT MAY HAD BEEN A GOOD HUNT.
But as they did not it was tuff to find workable water and with the strong winds and tide, it made it difficult to control the boat.

Took 7 Flounder with the largest being just over 20"

Best part of trip was sharing beers at Blockade Runners and meeting Tom, aka MTO before the hunt.

It was great to have y'all stop by for some front porch sittin'. We never turned the lights on. We just sat out on the porch and BS'd until 3am.

I'll take 7 flatties anyday, but it sounds like you had to work for them.

Hammer, it was work. It verges on being a physical work-out using the long handled gigs to push the boat off sand bars and flats when the wind puts you where you don't want to be.

Sandy, we came real close to coming back to camp to sleep it off but it was around 4a. We wound up resting/sobering up on the beach for a while before hitting the road.

Bruce was very pleased with the trip but I considered a complete blow out. I'm looking forward to showing guest what a good night on the water is really like. Its almost like picking dew berrys-take the ones you want and leave the rest to ripen.

7 is not a bad night at all, but if the wind is kicking, you are right it turns more into a work out than anything
