  • Bob's Jack Plate

My jack plate won't go up or down. I tried jumping the green and blue wires directly from the battery and still no movement. When I move the switch up or down, I hear a clicking noise, but no movement. I assume by bypassing the solenoids with no movement, that the motor is locked up.

Can the motor be rebuilt or should I just get another one? Anyone know what the warranty is on a Bob's machine shop motor?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

Hook it up to a battery and tap on the motor ever so lightly. It may just be getting a bad contact. My past experience when that has happened is it want long before the motor goes bad.
I have an uncontrolable desire to wanna jerk my rod.

Try that, but I have had experiances that the pump is froze or the motor is bad. 1 year on motor and pump on warranty.
