  • Spillway Jerk

Had a guy completely cut me off this morning. I was working the north breakwater back towards the point. I was 20' from the rocks and the "T" where boats turn the corner to anchor up. I made 3 casts working the breakwater and see this guy in a White Sea Hunt w/ 150 merc coming down the breakwater. He stays his course and runs right in front of me. I asked him to go around and he says he's going to the spillway. Hey jackwagon go around next time. They are lucky they didn't get a rattle trap to their domes. Pics to come later today... Out here at Hugo waiting on the Marx brothers we are BBQ'n today!

This guy probably had no clue that he was being an a-hole. In fact, in his ignorance, he probably thought that you were.

It would be nice if there were "fisherman education" programs around that would teach proper conduct. It isn't difficult - and to most of us it is fairly obvious. But it isn't obvious to everyone.

An hour or two is all it would take.

3 more boats not pictured plus a wader

I don't get near them they all anchor on the wall. I use the TM & work my areas away from the crowds apparently this guy just wanted me to move. My fishing was interrupting his straight path to the spillway.

The problem with the USPS stuff is that it is about basic boating, and is not dedicated to fishing.

I think proof of boater safety course should be required for everyone on the water. Etiquette should be a section of that course.
