  • Wave Period?

What is meant by wave period? I know it is the frequency of waves, but I am confused since it is listed in seconds in the buoy reports.

So is it the time between waves, so a higher number, like 8 seconds or so, means more space between waves and calmer seas than, say, a 4 second period?

It's not waves per second is it? In that case, 4 would be better than 8 for calmer seas.

You got it MJ-it is between peaks, so the longer, the smoother. If 6 seconds or higher, that means rollers. 3-4 seconds means washing machine and dang rough ride and lotsa pounding.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
