It's been really slow hard fishing for me in the south shore marsh since the start of the north winds and high tides. Tricked a nice one today and hopefully this success will start a pattern. Bad luck - fish didn't have a Star tag. Good luck - was able to sight cast to a nice redfish with a fly rod, caught it, and released it unharmed. Biggest good luck of all is that I'm physically still able to go fishing every day and I'm living on the west bay where fly fishing for reds is one of the best kept secrets on the Texas coast. I share this information because I know the members on this forum won't go blabbing the news all over Houston. Next thing you know every Yahoo with a fly rod and a kayak will be all over the west bay marshes.
