Xtreme Tournament Trail - Getting Ready for Corpus!
On October 17, 2009, the Xtreme Tournament Trail arrived with a bang! 52 teams competed for an unmatched opportunity at a holy grail - 1st place prize - of $10,000 cash. I physically counted out $10,000 cash to Lake & Bay's Team Sweeny Todd - Brett Sweeny and Coleman Todd. Team Sweeny Todd weighed in an impressive 14.94 pounds of redfish on a tough fishing day to reel in the victory!
The anglers faced a North wind and muddy water but the skill and talent in the XRT angler field brought redfish to the weigh in station! The second place spot was hooked by Captains Charlie and Jack Barton of South Texas. Team Barton led most of the day with an early catch of 14.65 pounds. Team Barton, sponsored by Majek and TTF were followed by Team Fight Em Fair - also weighing in 14.65 pounds. Team Fight Em Fair - Robert Rathkamp and Josh Bryan grinded out to secure 3rd place in a great tournament in addition to winning the early registration hill country hunt. Impressive!

The next Xtreme stop will be held on November 14, 2009 at Bluffs Landing - a popular Corpus Christi venue that is a favorite of many Southern locals. To learn more about the Xtreme Tournament Trail, please visit www.xtremetournamenttrail.com or join the Xtreme Redfish Anglers group on Facebook. Pictures of the Matagorda Tournament have been posted on the Facebook group page, and the tournament standings have been emailed to all of the anglers. The Xtreme Tournament Trail website will be updated within the week with standings, pics, etc.
The Corpus tournament is expected to entertain a competitive field of talented anglers and promises to be a lot of fun!
