  • Appalachian trail

    Earlier this month I had to travel to DC (was in DC during the first week of the shutdown).
    I broke away to hike a 50 mile section on the (federally closed) Appalachian Trail, over 3 days.
    Port Royal to Harper's Ferry.

    A few parts of the trail (the Roller Coaster) kicked my butt. I'm not used to trudging up 400' to 600' hills.

    Anyhow, here's some pics:

      I drove along a small section of that area up teen years ago . Breath taking . Cool hike . Thanks for sharing .

        Yeah , not many 400-600 foot hills around here .
