So we are at our place in South Texas this weekend hoping to get my seven old his first deer. Well he shot at a couple of them with no luck. Sunday morning we are sitting the the stand and I look behind us and see this dude standing in the sendero about 200yds out.Landowner told us there were a few of these on the ranch but we have not seen any on game cams or riding around. Pretty cool bonus though. This was my first Axis.

nice surprise indeed! how tall was he? I'm guessing 28-29 in.? Axis meat is awesome. A big ol buck like that will taste just as good if not better than a whitetail doe.XA
