  • opening weekend deer season

Went to fredericksburg it was tough hunting due to all the recent rains have made it rather green there not to mention the trees were full of acorns. The deer would not come to the feeders, I was on the way to the stand and I jumped a nice 9 pointer he was running does so I waited a few minutes he popped back out and I WHACKED him it was too early to pick up the other hunters so i got out the ol zebco with the lil chartreuse roadrunner and started tearin up the crappie all this happened before 7:30 am one heck of a day, I was very happy with the deer the other hunters seen nothing worth killing. very slow hunting espescially for the hill country. I also got a longhorn spike,we also had a run in with some bats they were hiding under the plywood on top of feeder scary lookin boogers!!

That's a tough shot to make not being in a blind with a window sill to steady to gun. Congrats!
