  • Overnighter Friday 5/2

Three of us headed out of surfside Friday straight out 75 miles we had good conditions going out and made good time. We dropped down at a few spots nearby on a rig with no takers on jigs except a jack. We slowly made our way out to the sword grounds as we cooked some burgers for dinner.

My crew crashed on me lol. One was hurt from a brush with the gaff which made him nauseous so he had to lay down. The other was seasick and had to sit down as well. I maneuvered the boat around & the crew helped out to get things out in the water. We drifted 3 lines for 5 hours with no bites.

Around 2 am I was ready to crash and set the radar alarm and woke up one of the guys to keep watch. At 3:30 am I woke up and everyone was in a beanbag. I jumped up and scanned around. I fussed about it that next morning.

Around day light we made our way around trolling back in shore dodging the weeds, clearing lines etc. We came across a nice size patch with birds working. We picked up some chicken dolphin and made our way back out for tile. Spent most of the day prospecting new spots and areas of interest. Loaded up about 12 tile, 12 chicken dorado.

Around 5pm Saturday we buttoned down the hatches and made our way back into port. We stopped for some AJ but couldn't make bait and nothing was happening on the jig with the currents now ripping we moved further inshore. We checked a couple of red snapper holes to see what they were holding with good success. Vented and all released.

We stopped at some state snapper spots and poked around for a bit tossing in a few legal snapper for the box. We spent some time weeding through the small ones.

It was a good trip and was glad to finally get back out there. Can't wait to get back out and finally get a sword.

I was very happy to have the spray shields on the boat some other friends that didn't have them were pretty wet all weekend.

So Coe, did yall get a new boat?

BTW, great report and nice tiles (and Snapper).
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Nice boat, but remember - you can only " catch the red snapper" while sweating your redneck *** off for 11 days because you don't pay for the commercial licensce so the red snapper will not be overfished. BWAAAHAHAH!
