  • Early Sunday

Still working 6 days a week. Decided to hit Dollar reef. Fished from 4am to 7 and only
managed 2 specks at 17". Missed a couple and put back a Rat Red.
I haven't tried this spot in a long time. Were did all the fish go.
In the past there would be 30-40 boats sitting there on a weekend in mid July
and everyone was catching trout. Only 6 boats today.
Maybe Ike changed things. There is still plenty of structure in close were I was fishing.
    Bite shut down at sunrise.

At least you got two. What does the water look like down there? Might make a morning trip Mon. or Tues.

That's still a good location, but the super moons we've had the last two nights really cut down on the daytime bite. I fished two good spots yesterday with live bait and wound up one sandy and a hardhead.

            Moe,
Water was a little sandy but fishable.
Tide was very low when launching the boat, then had a strong incoming tide.
Wind was coming from the NW.....strange, but I double checked it on a web site to make
            sure I wasn't crazy.

Yes , you are crazy , Dale , but that has nothing to do with your weather observations ...HAR ! Thanks for the report . You netted two fish .
