Just the other day I was trying to explain to a guy at work on how
a Bobber Stopper could allow you to fish a spot with hang ups on the bottom using this type of rig.

I use those bobber stops to stop my bullet weight from sliding on the line when flipping for bass also. They are cheap and have a lot of uses.
