  • S. Jetty: Braving the crowd

Went down to the S. Jetty to try and get into some reds. Flounder hordes were out in full force. Probably a rod every 10 feet or so on the jetty. Castnetted some mullet for bait from the jetty, and got to see a few territory arguments while I was there Makes me glad I have a kayak to get away from everyone.

Once I caught plenty of mullet I hit the gulf side up because it was just too nice. Besides, I have enough flounder and I've heard that the reds were thick in the surf. Got a nice upper slot about 1/3 of the way down the jetty. Fishing was kind of slow as it was just clearing up from the cold front.

Great conditions and I got my red
