We were able to land our first yellowedge grouper this past weekend.
Left Surfside around 3 PM on Saturday and ran straight to the shelf. We ended up with about 10-12 tiles, 3-4 barrel fish, and this yellowedge that the girlfriend caught!
We worked Nansen until dawn with only a few barracuda and BFT. We chunked, used poppers and drifted all night with nothing to show for it.
I thought about running to Boomvang, just never did. I'm curious of any reports because by the morning we were one of the the only two boats remaining.
We ended up trolling back inshore where we jumped a few dorado before finally calling it a trip.
It was a fun couple of days with some great conditions.
