Went to chocolate to test out the POPOLE i mounted. after checking it out in one of the oxbows just north of the bridge, i decided to stay in the bayou due to the wind. stop out in front of the chem plant, after an hour i had scratched out 2 trout and a lil red. went further up past lutes fished a couple of spots, couldnt buy a bite. got tired reallly fast of the wind,made it hard to work the jig. i was about to call it a day, when i saw sometrhing swirl at the end of a lay down. "light bulb moment" i go diging thru my stuff for crank baits.. i got 1 bomber fat A and 1 manns minus 1.
tie on the bomber fat A and go to crankin wood. 3 hours later ive got 7 redfish in the boat. all but 1 were solid fish 18-21. ended up by what i call "the wall" a few mile up. really think i could have cought more if i had some diff crank baits.... im about to raid some of my bass boat of tackle, and put it in the bay boat.
