  • Tough Day in East Bay - Mar 5

    Wind: 15+ knots ESE
    Tide: Slack low & incoming
    Water Temp: 55-57 deg F
Water Clarity: Stained (<1 ft visibility)
    Water Depth: 3-4 ft
Bottom: Soft Mud & Scattered Shell

I heard that the reds were biting in East Bay so my brother and I went on Saturday looking for.... big trout. Not surprisingly, all we found were redfish.... they were everywhere.

Here's a pic of the biggest one which went 28" (released). We caught a few more and kept 2 @ 24" for the grill.

All fish caught on pearl/chartreuse Corky's and bone Catch 2000's.... we probably could have caught them on tails but it was easier casting the heavier baits into the wind.

My favorite fish to catch! Great picture!

Nice catch. Watch out for that big oil glob behind you. It'll take lotsa soap to wash the stain off the boat from it!!

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. It's the rolling fog bank of anonymity -- always shows up just in time to hide your fishing spots when somebody busts out a camera!

Nice report! Glad you guys found em!
                Shut up and FISH!!
