Chocolate Bayou Recon
I was down working on the house and did not do any fishing but can at least give a conditions report
Despite the water being real low, due to the winds the water up the bayou is in good condition. I saw a lot of bait, and was able to catch a half DZ crabs in the trap. When I start catching crabs it tells me the spring bite is here.
Look for reds along any shoreline and try throwing gold spoons, and soft plastics.
Trout are there, and I look for nervous bait to find those, and don't surprised to catch 20+" spec up there. The freez did not kill to many, so I expect this to be a good season.
Last, don't forget, if you fish Chocolate, there will be a tournemnt at Lutes Marine on April 24th, benfiting the Sea Center Texas Flounder restocking.
