  • Keene Family Fishing Trip

I was out this morning with a party of 4- Mr. Keene his two sons and 6 year old granddaughter. We headed out this morning from the dock around 6:30 and headed straight our first spot. There was a little fog in the area but not too bad. I made my first stop and The Keene family was getting after it right off the bat. For the first 20 min, they picked up 10 trout and Else the 6 year old caught here very first trout 16 inches she said KEEPER. She had never been fishing in the bay, here father is an off shore fisherman and she has gone out with him. She had the talk and could back it up, she ended up with about 7 trout to 21 inches. Back to the 20 minuets a boat pulled in and parked his boat right where my party was casting. I was not happy, but we made a move and headed to a few more spots after casting another 30 min. and did not pick up a single fish. All in all the day was good We ended up with 23 trout and 1 red and the Keene family will have some great memories.

All fish were caught on artificial baits, Norton Bull Minnow glow and chartreuse was the best color today. We caught fish on several different colors.

I was thinking about going out for a quick trip on Sunday am, but the weather is not looking too good and I never like to fish the day after a front.
