Fished with Sal Bautista and Derek this am.
Waded a few deep reefs at armpit depth for me, which means they were bouncing on their tiptoes to keep their head above the water. Tide was slack all morning and the bite was slow, but they did feed some.
Ended the day with 9 trout in the box 18" - 22" for the fryer, 1 red and a few bigger trout to 26" released. I also had the best blow up of my life today. Sal was wading back to get the boat about 50yds upwind and heard the blow up. He turned to look and the fish came out of the water completely. She was a BIG SOW at least 28" and fat. She shook the skitterwalk out in about 15 seconds after running straight at me about 30 feet. Good to get the blood pumpin'!
