South Jetty Two-Step

Well, Haven't been out since the Big Ugly Tournament so we decided to launch at the Yacht Basin and try the jetty's. Went to the north first, great water, protection from the wind... no fish. Went over to the South Jetty, found a place on the channel side about 500 yrds from the end..crappy water, bait everywhere. Boated 5 Sheepshead to 6 .lbs, and 5 Specks 17"-20". All caught on live shrimp under popping cork fished up against the rocks. Hooked plenty of undersize specks and reds. Smacks showed up for a brief encounter but none boated.

Water temp at the Jettys was 81 degrees.

Yacht Basin had plenty Live Shrimp, Croakers, and Mullet. and $4 bags of ice.. make sure to hit a Buccees on the way to the island.
