  • 6/12 Report - Nice red

    Conditions:
    Winds SE 15-20
    Water temp - 86
    Water color - dirty
    Pressure - around 30
    Tide - slow outgoing

Donna and I invited a new couple we met in Terramar to go out and fish on Saturday. Wind was more then I wanted to mess with, but this was their first trip out into West, so I figured we would keep it simple and drift Chocolate with popping cork and shrimp.

Caught a lot of slimers and lost one large something (my guest did). Donna landed a 16" trout and this monstor red. It came in at 27" and 8 lbs.

Don't worry, I was playing captain and did not get a line wet. I did have to jump over board to get a lost cork though

Nice Report and way to get wet over a runaway cork Captain Mike! I thought the skipper only went down with the ship..lol..I guess wifey took the helm during the rescue? It is nice to see even with the poor wind conditions the best of us can still find 'em.

Funny thing is, my $ 40 net broke during the trip and they went to Academy and get me another one the next day. It was totally unexpected and yes, I am still breaking gear!!

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
