I've been on a budget so I've been keeping the trips close to home and doing pretty good. There are some really good stretches in front of the levee and the channel is hit or miss. I still havent popped anything over 22" and it's starting to eat on me.
Traveling up the Dickinson channel the other night was a trip, strange wild life out there and big gar and tons of keeper reds just harrassing me under my lights Grrrrrr!
Saw a real cool unidentified water snake. It's basic coloring was deserst sand and had bold black patterns almost in like a houndstooth design. It was about 4 foot long and hunting in the cord grass on the waters edge.
I love gigging and the night.
No stupid crowds or a sun radiating me to death and the beer stays cooler longer. The prize is as tasty as they come!
