9/28/2010 Fishing Report
The weather has been so nice the last few days, so I decided to get my line wet. Water was warm and wasn't too bad, but wasn't clear. Wind was light coming from NE. I decided to wet wade for some flounder after getting jealous of all the awesome posts.
Nothing on tops, nothing really but a few rat reds on plastics. I was looking for some flounder in the marsh and I just happened to see a mud boil about 20 yards away from me up against the grass. I put on a fresh Gulp Jerk Shad and threw it on the grass-line and let it fall. I thought I got caught up in some more grass or some oysters but she started peeling off line and broke the tip on my old spare and as soon as I set the hook and I finally saw why... she swallowed the hook really deep. Measured about 24".
I was hoping to release her after hearing some guy with an annoying voice -always calling in on the Outdoor Show preaching to Capt. Mickey about some Flounder Conservation efforts with TPWD. I think his name is Bryan Treadway or something hahaha. Anyways, maybe next time b/c this one is dinner. Sorry Fish Hippies
