  • Friday evening 10/1

Decided to leave work at 3PM and head out for some fishing. I grabbed the guy who does the paintwork on cars for the dealership. Ran across the pond to Smith point and got in to the same stinking gafftop that were there the last time so I made the call to come back to my honey hole. It was a good call and nice to have a net man this time. I nailed 3 keeper trout (17,17.5 and 18)and 2 reds (21 and 23). He had one keeper trout that was probably about 18" also. I gave him the trout and kept the reds for redfish on the halfshell tonight for dinner. I can just imagine how much better we could have done if I had just stayed with where I wanted to go. Caught them all on top.

I have been on them a while. Too bad it is out of tourney bounds. Even though the reds I am catching probably would not win the tourney.
