east matty 10/19

i haven't fished matagorda since february but made a quick run down and fished w/ mike thomas. we agreed to work birds and drift since i only had a few hours to play. my first cast yielded a nice trout on a topwater and we continued to catch fish thru the morning. you had to work your way thru a few dinks but we managed 15 specs to 20 inches, ten sandies, and 2 nice reds with the largest being 25 1/2 inches. fish of the day was mike's 27 or 28inch trout that came under the birds. he didn't want to net it and she shook loose while i was trying to figure out his camera so we only got one photo but she was huge. most fish came on sand eels and a few on tops.

Nice fun and productive trip. There had been a lot of boat and jet ski pressure in East Matty this past weekend. I'm sure it was much lighter today. Congrats!
