    Small flies do catch fish!

I spent a couple of hours with a friend last night out on his dock under the light playing with my new TFO "BVK" rod. The BVK is already by far my favorite - it is very light and has so much feel to it.

The fish were there, so we experimented - trying many fly patterns. After trying spoons, surf candies, and some clouser variations, I wanted to try a little fly that I tied the other day when I was working with the Clear Cure Goo. This little fly is blonde wig hair, a little bit of pearl Wing 'n Flash and medium bead chain eyes on a #8 34007.

It caught the most and largest fish of the night.

    This one is a 20-incher.

Nice catch! My go to fly under the lights is a #4 solid black clouser with no flash. Durring the winter I will go as small as a #6. I typically go smaller as the water clears up.

Whats nice about the small fly is that you can sight cast to the fish with out spooking them, allowing you to focus on the larger ones.
