Reaction strike

I have reaction strike lure with single treble on front, from factory ( this is a 3 piece near surface lure), can't cast it that line doesn't hang up on treble? line tied straight to lure, 16" of shock leader on swivel, have tried taking off swivel, doesn't help. Shock leader 20# on 10 # mono. Anyone had similar problems?

Try waxing you shock leader with bow wax from a hunting bow, it might help keep the leader material straighter when working the bait.20 floracarbon waxed should do the trick...

Thanks for the info, I don't use floracorbon, it is too stiff for live bait.

Capt.Mike you said in your post you were using a lure with a front treble hook not live bait,but I can assure you floracarbon works great for live bait.Good luck

I have fished with lots of people using floracarbon and 9 times out of 10 mono shock leader work better with live bait, since it is not as stiff. I will try some on the reaction strike, and see what happens.
