Fog was fairly heavy, temp in the mid 50's, very light breeze if any. I planned to work the flats with top waters, but with the wind down, I changed my mind and headed to deep water shell pads. We never got a solid bite going but the first fish was a 34'' red fish, and the largest this young man had caught. Later on we managed a double hook up on two thought to be bull reds, one broke off but after 2 rounds around the boat and several long runs we managed to land a 42'' red, also the largest this young man had ever caught. We worked several areas and caught 1 keeper speck, a few sand trout worth keeping, and a sheep head. We headed back to the flats to see what we could find. We worked several areas and could see fish, but couldn't get a bite going. We had fish with in 3 feet of the boat following bait, we changed the way we worked it to no avail. The guys had enough for supper, but memories to last lots longer. Thanks guys for a great day on the water.
