trolling motor

I came across a great deal for a 46# 12V motor guide trolling motor. Unfortunetly its for fresh water. I know it should be ok in brackish but can it be used in salt water?? i was thinking that if i rinsed it out very good and sprayed wd-40 or something after every use. Please advise.

Hey a great deal is a great deal.It can be used for dalt but want hold up as well in salt.Sometimes we gotta live within our budgets.Even some of the so called saltwater trolling motors don't hold up well like the older motorguides.
