  • Last Flounder of 2010

Last gigging trip of the year near the channel and it was slow. Conditions couldn't have been better with calm wind and super-clear water. I could see the bottom 20' away in knee-deep water. One bed and one 17'er the whole evening. I did get some extra seafood while I was out so it wasn't too bad.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

no crabs in the giant shells, they are snails, the meat is not bad, kinda chewy, good for gumbo and stuff

They were "lighting Welks" a marine snail that can be prepared like Conch.
