I concur with Sala's on the seawall next to Academy! Messy Nachos....mmmmmmm!

Also, there is a Tamale stand on 146 in Tx City right down from the Valero station.

                        Avery's is open.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Salsa's happy hour is a regular thing for my buddies and myself here on the island. 2.50 margaritas and they are potent. You will be feeling good after 2 or 3

                          Here's what I like...

                          Mexican food:
-Gorditas: Torta cubana is too good. Try the gorditas and empanadas too. Plus the waitresses wear tight soccer shirts (sometimes a good thing)
-Mercadito Taqueria: Good machacado breakfast tacos and a little cheaper prices

                          Asian food:
-Pho 20 is about the only place I like

Seafood: You'd think the seafood would be better on the island, but Gaidos is the only one I really like. Clary's was nice but that hasn't been reopened. I guess that's why we fish to go get our own!

I also like The Spot for burgers and poboys. Olympia Grill is pretty good too.

Has anyone eaten at the Kelly's around mile 10 or so? I just found out about that place and it slams hard. The chicken fried steaks and biscuits are ridiculously huge

Kelly's rules! And the BBBLT at The Blue Water Grill is outstanding.

I heard that Clary's is open again!
                              Has anyone been there lately?
That place was terrific the one and only time I was there before Ike.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.
