Hit the bayou this morning and drift fished all along the bayou. Caught my new personal best Redfish of 25 1/2" on plastic. Ended up for the freezer, 2 Reds 25 1/2 and 20 1/2, and 8 specs from 17" to 22". Reds were busting bait all over and lost a few bigger reds and trout. Hooked into something that spooled my reel, never seen 120 yards of 10# go bye bye so fast LOL. Bite was best from Noon to about 2:30 when the wind was howling and some rain. As soon as wind died down fish quit biting. Tried but no flounder could be raised so missed out on my first grand slam. Maybe next time.

Yep, I'm the one converting to lures. Been giving them a great go at it. So far my best luck has been with Assassin Space Guppy 4-inch Sea Shads. Can't seem to get any bites on any other color. Did get 1 red on a bone colored SS Jr. So still in the learning process when to use other colors. Had a blast and learning to be more patient and learn the water better.
