I hit the bay today "solo" and was greeted with brown water and windy conditions. I was able to find a reef that had some decent water around it and that is where the fish were. I am going to do a quick report today. Fished mid bay reefs while the waves were whitecapping. Caught fish on every drift. Threw back the first red because I tought it was a fluke in the conditions - 20 1/2". Then did two more dirfts and caught 5 undersized reds (19 1/2"ers) and 1- trout 17" (kept) and kept the next two reds 25" and a 27 7/8 for the baby sitters dinner ( We will have left overs for when we get in). I will be back out there tomorrow with the wife and my brother. Now that I look outside it has calmed but the fish are still holding in windy conditions on the deep reefs.
Artificials under a popping cork. The more you pop the better.
I will post pics after I get the little one to bed.
