Doing muddy work

On the trout,that is.Walked-in to a wintertime haunt to see if they have shown up yet.They have.They're starting to move in tight and over ankle to shin deep mud.The spook bite has been slow,but the sand eels have been the ticket.A dose of salt n pepper was what they wanted.The bite was early,on the outgoing.Strung 8,18-22" and fat.The next cold front and it's all over.

Nice meat haul.

I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A small baby bird will fall frozen, dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself...
