Where do I find the main drain line? I know the outlet is near the roof. However, where does it come out of my unit in the attic? I'm assuming I have been only messing with the secondary which drains the pan the unit sits on...

Yessir that looks to be the drain off your condenser coils. It's insulated so the cold water won't let it sweat in your walls or ceiling. You should be able to remove that cap and see if there's water standing in it.Shut up and FISH!!

Gilbert has it right. You need to find out where that line goes (is there a bath, kitchen, washroom below the AC?). If so, that's where it should tie. If it ties in behind a wall, it's sounds like it's Roto time.
Using a chemical could create a mess since you do not have a good way to flush. If you could get a wire snake past the trap, you might be able to breakup the clog and get flow. Again, good luck.
