It was excellent. So excited for part 2 tonight. Costner is fantastic as Devil Anse. I expected a little bit better from Bill Paxton, but then again he hasn't been featured too much. We still have 2 parts to go, so I imagine he'll improve and be featured more. It's tough to comment on the accuracy of the movie since the real life circumstances are still a bit muddy. The guys making this movie are knocking it out of the park thus far. Make sure you pay attention to the dialouge, the actors do a good job of talking in that 1870's West Virginia/Kentucky accent.

They filmed it all in Romania. No McDonald's, Quiznos signs, or telephone poles to hide.
Apparently on some of the same backlots as "Borat-Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan".

Last night kinda took it up a notch in action I thought! Ole Beringer has really gotten big, or into this role well. He keeps it up, he could play me...course he'd have to really go to chit and lose all his hair!
